Captain Rudy Gay
Fourth-Generation Apalachicola Native
I was born and raised in Apalachicola, Florida — a fourth-generation native. My grandfather was the caretaker for St. Vincent Island when it was privately owned by Mr. Lee Loomis, and I spent the early years of my life living on Bull Island, also owned by Mr. Loomis.
I have a 100 Ton U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain’s License, and with this I show others what’s so special about Apalachicola Bay and the estuary.
Shared Passion & Local Knowledge
Growing up on these waters gives me a deep connection to this place — from its history to its wildlife — and I love sharing that with every guest. Whether you’re here to fish, cruise, explore, or take photos, I’ll help you experience the wilder side of the Forgotten Coast.
more than a hobby
Photography & Storytelling
Many guests come for the fishing, but some come for the photographs. I have an eye for that perfect shot and enjoy capturing the beauty of our waters, wildlife, and special moments shared on the trip. My eco-style cruises are great for unique photos and stories you won’t find anywhere else.
